I have always been interested in complementary therapies, as I firmly believe that a holistic view of the body and mind should be taken into account when treating symptoms of illnesses, which often originate from the stress we are exposed to in our daily lives.
- My first experience with holistic therapies was the introduction to yoga in 1995 in Germany. After moving to the UK in 1997 I started practicing IYENGAR® yoga, and I still attend weekly classes with a senior teacher.
Realising the benefits of yoga to my physical and mental well-being, I wanted to help others experience the same and started the two-year’s IYENGAR® teacher training course in 2003, qualifying in October 2005 as IYENGAR® yoga teacher. - Because I love animals and wanted to increase my knowledge in animal handling and husbandry, I attended an Animal Management course at Southdowns College, which I completed successfully in 2011.
- During a demonstration of Reiki for Animals at a pet show in London, I was amazed to see how animals responded to the subtle energies of Reiki. Never having experienced Reiki for myself, I decided to learn this healing art in order to help my cat, who suffered from a heart condition as well as to help my husband, who had recently become disabled. I did my Reiki Level 1 in 2011, Reiki Level 2 in 2012 and graduated to Reiki Master in 2013 and Reiki Master Teacher in November 2015. In 2014 I started to learn Karuna® Reiki and graduated to Karuna® Reiki Master/Master Teacher in 2015.
- In 2013 I successfully finished an FHT accredited course in the art of Indian Head Massage and learned new techniques in an advanced course in 2014.
